Pure
has the functionality to run an automated search of Scopus to look for outputs
that are available in Scopus but not currently entered in Pure. In the past,
the search criteria was not as robust as it should have been, resulting in
numerous import errors that caused problems for individual researchers and
central teams. The decision was made to switch off the automated search, so as
to not interfere with the preparation and submission of ERA 2018.
Following extensive testing of revised search criteria and system performance,
we are pleased to confirm that the automated trawl for publications in Scopus
was turned on again last week.
You may have already received emails advising that new publications have been
found and need to be claimed.
The reactivation of the trawl has initially served a dual purpose: as well as
collecting missing outputs, central are performing due diligence in verifying
the correct assignation of publications. As there has been a period of time
when the search was switched off, it is likely you will have a
higher-than-usual amount of publications to claim, which may include past
publications that had not previously been entered in Pure due to our date
restriction on the search. Continuous activity of the search will mean that in
future, you will only need to claim outputs as and when they are published.
Please refer to the guide
that shows you how to claim the outputs.
Once you have claimed your outputs, our faculty's Research Publications
Coordinators will check that the information is correct and meets internal and
external reporting requirements. Once they have validated the research output,
it will appear correctly on your external Pure profile.
Should you have any questions, concerns or comments regarding the automated
Scopus import of publications or are unsure how to correctly claim your outputs
please contact myresearch@monash.edu.
