Biostatistics Consulting Platform

From 1 April 2019, the cost of the Biostatistics Consulting Platform will increase to $150/hour due to the tapering of  faculty support for the platform. SCS staff are advised to consult with their supervisors prior to engaging with the platform, to confirm funding approval. The local consultants for the Biostatistics Platform at MMC will continue to be Dr Lucy Busija (lucy.busija@monash.edu) and Dr Cathy Martin (cathy.martin@monash.edu)

Maximising data value and avoiding data waste: a validation study in stroke research

Recent advances in digital infrastructure has allowed linkage of administrative and clinical datasets. Dr Monique Kilkenny recently led the linkage of the Australian Stroke Clinical Registry with hospital administrative datasets. Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability in Australia and with this linked dataset, researchers will be able to reliably investigate the characteristics of patients who are rehospitalised and if these hospitalisations are potentially preventable.

Call for applications: Monash -TAU Pilot PhD Exchange Program


Established in 2013, with support from the Australian Friends of Tel Aviv University (Victoria) Inc., the Australian Friends of Tel Aviv University – Monash University (AFTAM) Awards were set up to encourage research collaborations that combine the expertise of Monash University and Tel Aviv University for greater impact, particularly in complementary capabilities and strategic objectives in the following themes: medical & health sciences, sustainable environments, resilient cultures & communities and social sciences.

2019 Perpetual Trustees Ramaciotti Health Investment Grants - EOI APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Appliations are now open for the 2019 Perpetual Trustees Ramaciotti Health Investment Grants. A Health Investment Grant is intended to provide enabling research support for an autonomous early career investigator (no more than 10 years post-PhD as at 1 January 2019) who is taking or has recently taken a substantive position. It is expected that up to seven grants will be awarded in 2019.

Important: New construction works between MIMR and MHRP buildings

Construction of the new two-storey Monash University Biobank facility will commence on Monday 18 February.

Builders will begin setting up the work site from next week.
