2019 Bupa Health Foundation Emerging Health Researcher Award

The Bupa Health Foundation is seeking nominations for its 2019 Emerging Health Researcher Award.  Offered once a year, this award recognises the valuable contribution early career researchers (no more than 5 years post PhD) make toward improving health outcomes for all Australians.

Being able to make a small yet positive impact to those he encounters is what graduate, Sam Cooper, hopes a career in medicine will bring. Yet, as the recipient of the 2018 Shaun Summers Award for Medical Student Research, Sam has already shown just how much of an impact he is making – especially to the lives of refugee families in Australia.

The Department of Surgery in the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health has celebrated its 50th anniversary with a dinner held at the Monash Club on Friday, 7 June 2019. Hosted by Professor Julian Smith, Head of Department of Surgery at SCS and Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Monash Health, the evening was an opportunity to bring together those who have been pivotal in the department’s success since its beginnings.
