Debrief session for members of the NHMRC Investigator Grant review panels

Professor Mike Ryan is arranging a meeting with Faculty members who sat on NHMRC Investigator Grant review panels to discuss what has worked and what hasn’t, and to ensure a targeted approach to communicate issues to the NHMRC, and also to help guide future applications.

May 17 marked World Hypertension Day, making it an opportune time to celebrate the international success and recognition of the Monash Endocrine Hypertension Unit (est 2010) headed by Dr Jun Yang, an Endocrinologist at Monash Health and post-doctoral researcher at Hudson Institute of Medical Research and School of Clinical Sciences (Monash University).

Landmark study evaluating new sedation paradigm in ventilated ICU patients

A study led by Professor Yahya Shehabi, Professor of Medicine and Program Director of Critical Care in the School of Clinical Sciences, evaluated the clinical effectiveness of the non-conventional sedative, dexmedetomidine, given within hours of needing ventilatory support as the primary first line sedative agent.
