Qualifications: Applicants
should be advanced PhD students in the field of medical science or in the
MBBS/MD-PhD pathway; and have an interest in the field of neuro-immunology.

Scope of the
Fellowship
The
Fellowship provides training under the supervision of Professor Demitrios
Karussis, Director of the Center for MS and Head of the Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Lab, and Professor Tamir Ben Hur, Chairman, Department of Neurology at
Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center. Training opportunities include:
· basic techniques of stem cell preparation and culture used in
Hadassah’s advanced technologies and clinical trials for patients with MS and ALS;
· laboratory immunological tests used for the diagnosis
and follow up of patients
with neuro-immunological diseases; and
· stem cells and neurodegeneration research
Candidates with clinical training will also have
opportunities to:
· learn techniques for injection of stem cell therapy to MS patients; and
· participate in specialty clinics involved in diagnosis, treatment and
follow up of MS patients
