Accessing Research Professional off-campus

Most people at Monash use Research Professional (RP) whilst on campus, and can therefore access RP without needing to log on (indeed most have never logged on).

If you are working from home using VPN you can access RP as you would on campus.  If you are not using VPN, you cannot access Research Professional unless you login.  Research Professional can be accessed here.   The login screen provides two separate login pathways as shown below.  We recommend that users login via the left-hand side using Authcate eg. 'jwal000' and their Monash password.

If you have never logged on to Research Professional
Monash has created accounts for a large number of users.  To check if you have an account or to login, use the left-hand side.  If you attempt to login and you don't have an account, a Create new account screen will appear (refer p.3 of the attached login guide, also available here).

If you have previously logged on to Research Professional

• if you have only ever used the left-hand side to login, continue doing so,
• if you have only ever used the right-hand side to login, continue doing so,
• if you have previously created your own account in RP, use the right-hand side to login.  Once logged on, you will have the option to Link to your single sign-on account.

Why are there two login pathways?
The login screen is universal for all users of RP at all institutions.  The left-hand side only applies where an institution has enabled single sign-on (SSO) (thus removing the need for users to have a separate user name and password).
