STEPtember Challenge

Monash 10,000 steps challenge will be held in partnership with STEPtember, and every cent raised will go towards improving the lives of children and adults living with cerebral palsy.

To be part of this year’s event, all you need to do is create a team of four and register for the event using our special Monash code.  To participate, staff, students and their family members will be asked to donate a $5 entry fee and this will contribute to a Monash fundraising target of $30K to improve the lives of children and adults living with cerebral palsy.

Women's Health Week- Dr Feelgood is coming to Monash

Guess who’s bringing the good vibes — and a good reminder to see your GP — to Women’s Health Week at Monash?

To mark Women’s Health Week (7 to 11 September), and to prompt us, especially women, to keep seeing our GPs during the pandemic, we have a special Monash-only Zoom presentation with Dr Sally Cockburn (a.k.a. Dr Feelgood).  The event will be on September 7th at 12:00pm, please register HERE as places are limited.

Gut Health- Take care of it and it will take care of you

Evidence showing the impact of our gut bacteria on overall health and wellbeing continues to emerge. In this session we will explore how this might occur and what dietary strategies we can use to optimise the health of our gut and ourselves.  The event will be on September 8th at 1:00pm, please register HERE as places are limited.

R U OK? Day Events

R U OK? Day is on Thursday, 10 September this year's message is: There's more to say after R U OK?

You don’t have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says they’re not OK. A conversation could change a life and by knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before they’re in crisis Learn what to say next in this Free Conversation Guide.  Put together your own digital event with colleagues and register HERE to take part.

Mindful Communications and Relationships

We are social creatures and our ability to relate to others is often tested by many things including work pressure, stress, haste, multitasking and, in the current situation, social distancing. This practical session will explore how mindfulness can help us in our relationships with others, in communication and in the giving and receiving of feedback.  The event will be on September 15th at 12:00pm, please register HERE as places are limited.

Any questions on the above events please email wellbeing@monash.edu
