Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited– COCKPI-T® Funding 2020

In order to accelerate open innovation activities, Takeda leads an open grant competition program COCKPI-T® (Co-Create Knowledge for Pharma Innovation Takeda) where Takeda invites innovative research proposals corresponding to nominated Areas of Interest from researchers/companies and support them financially to confirm their research concepts.

Takeda is the largest pharmaceutical company in Japan and is ~#10 globally.

Interest areas: 

  • Neuroscience
  • Immunology (in Neuroscience and Oncology)
  • Regenerative Medicine
  • Rare Diseases
  • Platform Technologies 

30 Areas of Interest are listed, please refer to the website link for details. There is a strong neuroscience focus, though other fields are included, e.g. cell therapies for cancer targets, etc.

Funding: up to A$100,000/project including indirect costs.

First selection based on Proposal Sheet: to 23 Oct 2020
Interview (video-conference): to Mid Nov 2020
Final selection for COCKPI-T® Funding winners: 27 Nov 2020

*Application is only via the Takeda portal (link within listed website), however we request interested researchers to run draft applications past either Andrew Bray (BD, FMNHS) and/or Julian Vultaggio (Monash Innovation), to check for fit, confidentiality issues (the application is NON-confidential) and to identify any potential IP issues.
