Victoria Fellowships - close 5pm Monday 15th June, 2020

Victorian Government is again providing 12 Victoria Fellowships (up to $18,000) to assist early career scientists to undertake a short-term study mission overseas (when borders reopen) to foster collaborations with international research centres, further enhance knowledge of their chosen research and / or learn new skills to bring back to Victoria.

These fellowships target ECRs (less than 5 years Post PhD, FTE). They are open to Australian and New Zealand citizens, and Australian Permanent Residents. Applicants must also meet “current Victorian resident” requirements and employment conditions (see guidelines for details).

Although highly competitive, the Veski Victoria Fellowship provides ECRs with a unique opportunity to develop their career by funding a study mission to bring back valuable knowledge and technical capability not currently available in Victoria. They also look great on a DECRA application. You can find a list of previous recipients here.

How to proceed:
Applicants wishing to apply for a Veski Victoria Fellowship should review the relevant scheme information here, and discuss their plans with their HoD. Once a suitable program of activity has been identified, seek local advice to identify and secure the support of 2 referees. Given the preference for international referees, consider including at least one referee from an organisation you intend to visit.

Applications are submitted by individuals using the veski awards platform and close 5pm Monday 15th June, 2020. Applicants are encouraged to follow up with referees and HoD to ensure that these requirements are met by 5pm Thursday, 25 June 2020.

If you have any queries or need more information, please contact veski via email: veski@veski.org.au
