Suzanne Miller promoted to Professor

Prof Suzanne Miller

Congratulations to Suzanne Miller on her recent academic promotion to full Professor.  Professor Miller is a NHMRC Senior Research Fellow, Deputy Director of The Ritchie Centre where she leads the Neurodevelopment Theme.
Professor Miller's particular interest is in the field of neurodevelopmental physiology, and her research group combines preclinical studies of the primary causes of neonatal brain injury to better understand the progression of neuropathology, with clinical studies focused on detection and inhibition of perinatal brain injury. Her experimental studies are directed towards understanding the mechanisms that contribute to perinatal brain injury and functional deficits in pregnancies complicated by fetal growth restriction, preterm birth, in utero infection or birth asphyxia, so that targeted neuroprotective therapies can be implemented. Professor Miller is also an advocate for the role of women in science, and a founding member of the NHMRC’s Women in Health Science Committee.

I am incredibly grateful for the support I have received to get to this point, and I'll be excited when I can use the new title in July! I hope this continues to raise the profile of the work that we do in the Ritchie Centre and I will continue to advocate for the research and mentoring needs for early and mid-career biomedical researchers", said Professor Miller
