What has happened?
- Monash Health has been advised that an off-duty employee was attacked when walking near a Monash Health site after hours
- Remain Vigilant at all times when walking in local streets
- Increase your situational awareness when travelling to and from Monash Health sites
- In an Emergency contact the Police directly (( 000)
- Be alert for suspicious persons or vehicles at all times
- Avoid looking at, or listening to, personal devices while walking
- Never disclose personal information in the presence of strangers
- Walk confidently, with purpose
- Walk in groups where possible
- Notify colleagues, family or friends, of departure time and expected arrival time
- Keep car keys handy for quick access to your vehicle
- Remove Employee identification when you leave your workplace (eg: name badge, ID/Access card)
- For Emergency assistance (Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance) call the emergency number 000 from any telephone
- Refer to the Monash Health procedure on Prompt: “Reporting Crimes to Police”
- Notify Your Manager and Log an incident report in Riskman
- Seek assistance from Monash Health Wellbeing Resources EAP: 1300 OUR EAP (1300 687 327)
- For Emergency assistance within Monash Medical Centre or Monash Children’s Hospital please call the internal emergency number 999 from any desk telephone and state your emergency
- Download the Safety Alert to display on your team noticeboard
