Dr Christie Bennett |
Christie's PhD was entitled 'Sleep during pregnancy: a novel opportunity to change the health of two generations.' Her research found that sleep in pregnancy does have a relationship with maternal diet and post-partum mental health.
However, due to reliance on light-emitting devices and commitments (work and social), more research needs to be conducted to identify the best way to support women to ensure healthy sleep habits during pregnancy.
On receiving her PhD Christie said, “It feels surreal to have finally finished my PhD. I feel truly grateful for the opportunity. Thank you to my supervisors Professor Helen Truby, Associate Professor Sean Cain and Dr Michelle Blumfield and all the support provided by the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food.”
Congratulations, Dr Bennett, from all of us at SCS!
