MRFF Assessors sought for Rural, Regional and Remote Clinical Trial Enabling Infrastructure (RRRCTEI) Grant Opportunity

The Department of Health is currently seeking expressions of interest to assist with grant review and assessment processes for the MRFF Rural, Regional and Remote Clinical Trial Enabling Infrastructure Grant Opportunity.

The RRRCTEI Grant Opportunity will provide $100 million in funding over five years (from 2020-21) for facilities, research equipment, systems and services to improve access to clinical trials by Australians living in rural, regional and remote Australia.

Diversity in membership, including national and international representation, is important when selecting members for an MRFF Grant Assessment Committee, and demonstrated experience and/or expertise in the following areas is required:
  • clinical trials and related service delivery in rural, regional and remote areas – including both commercial and investigator-initiated (public) trials
  • enabling infrastructure for clinical trials in rural, regional and remote areas.
MRFF grant assessments have a strong focus on impact and value, with a particular focus on collaborative and translational research. It utilises processes that embrace diverse perspectives, including alternative disciplines, industry, healthcare, and consumer experience.

It is anticipated that the panel will meet in May 2020. It is not essential to have a research qualification to contribute to MRFF grant assessment.

Expressions of interest should be sent to ClinicalTrialsTeam@health.gov.au by 3 March 2020. Details must include name, institution, contact email, and area/s of expertise.

Further information on the RRRCTEI grant opportunity is available at GrantConnect and more broadly on MRFF .
