The ARC
recently announced a big change in the way research outputs will be entered
in ARC Discovery Project 2020 applications. Instead
of uploading PDFs with lists of outputs, all research outputs will now be
auto-populated from data imported into each researcher's RMS
profile. This change is mandatory and applies to both
Chief Investigators and Partner Investigators.
This change
affects the Publications List and 10 Career-Best Research Outputs (D19) in the
ROPEs. Please see p. 28 of the attached DP20 Instructions toApplicants (ITAs) for more information.
The ARC has advised that there are several ways to
upload publications to the RMS ‘Person Profile’:
1.
Link an RMS account with an ORCID account and import the research
outputs from the Works section of the user’s ORCID profile.
2.
Upload a BibTex file to RMS and perform a bulk upload of the
research outputs contained within it.
3.
Use a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to automatically harvest
research output metadata and create a research output record.
4.
Manually create an individual record per research output within
the RMS user profile.
The MRO has created a helpful guide that demonstrates how to download your
research outputs from Pure and then upload them into RMS. You can also link
your ORCID ID to
your RMS profile to automatically upload your data, but you must first verify
that all data linked to it is up to date and correct.
If you choose
to download your data from Pure, then it is very important that you ensure that
your Pure profile is up to date. The ROCS team
is available to help you update your publications in Pure, but please note that
they may be very busy during the DP submission period. Thus, it is
imperative that you begin this process now.
If you have
external CIs and PIs, please communicate these changes to them immediately to
ensure they have adequate time to upload their research outputs in RMS.
While the FRO and MRO are available to answer questions, we cannot offer RMS
support to external Investigators.
Please
note, this change only affects Discovery Projects. DECRA 2020
applications are not affected by this change.
Please let us
know (casilda.black@monash.edu) if you have any questions. The MRO ARC Applications
Team is also available to help with any RMS issues or questions.
