The HCF Research Foundation is
seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from research teams interested in funding
for health services research beginning in 2016 that will drive improvements in
the quality, safety, appropriateness and cost effectiveness of health care in
Australia.
Preference will be given to EOI’s
that address the following topics:
- Approaches
to reduce Hospital Acquired Complication’s as defined by the Australian
Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care. http://www.safetyandquality.gov.au/our-work/information-strategy/indicators/hospital-acquiredcomplications/
- Implementation
research using the Pregnancy and Childbirth Standard Set as developed by
the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement http://www.ichom.org/medical-conditions/pregnancy-and-childbirth/
- Geriatric
and Mental Health sub-acute and non-acute programs that avert unnecessary
hospitalisations or shorten the duration of a hospital stay
- Cost
effective models of care for wellness programs and prevention services
- Medication
management for patients with chronic and complex diseases post-hospital
discharge that reduce medication errors.
Applications involving
collaborations between investigators from a range of backgrounds, including
career researchers, practicing clinicians, policy makers, and the private
sector, will be given priority.
Research grants awarded recently
by the HCF Research Foundation ranged in value from $20,000 to $300,000.
Applications will be assessed on scientific merit as well the ability to affect
meaningful change to health services provision. Applications that demonstrate a
strong opportunity for translation of research outcomes into practice will be
viewed favourably.

copies) are due by 5:00pm AEST on Friday
