COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 is a rapidly changing situation and we all have a part to play in helping to reduce the rate of transmission. The University is committed to keeping the Monash community up-to-date and have developed a number of resources so staff and students can access the latest information. It is important that staff and students familiarise themselves with the messages from the University regarding COVID-19, and if you have any queries or concerns please discuss these directly with your supervisor.  In a time of uncertainty, it is important for us to remember to be kind and compassionate first, and to take care of ourselves, our family, friends and colleagues.

Information for staff only
Monash is committed to supporting its staff through this time, and we recognise that – as supervisors with direct reports – your staff may be asking you questions that you need guidance with addressing. With this in mind, Monash University has developed a Manager Toolkit to support you in managing conversations about COVID-19 with your staff.

The toolkit includes:
• A range of common queries supervisors may receive,
• Recommended, approved, responses that align with the University’s official COVID-19 response,
• Links to resources to direct staff to for further information, including our new COVID-19 leave guidelines.

Additionally, we understand that the recent requirements to implement social distancing at work has raised questions for staff and managers. We have developed a guide that assists with understanding how to manage social distancing at work, where alternative work arrangements would be appropriate to support social distancing and when working from home is a suitable alternative option.

If you require any clarification on any of the information please contact the School Manager, Eugene Fredericks at eugene.fredericks@monash.edu

If you need further support with managing staff queries, please contact Access HR on hr@monash.edu or via phone 9902 0400.
