Cancer Australia Supporting People with Cancer Grant Scheme Initiative (Round 11) CALL FOR EOI APPLICATIONS

The Supporting People with Cancer Grant Scheme Initiative aims to reduce the burden of cancer through the provision of grants to organisations; to encourage effective partnerships between organisations in order to improve coordination, accessibility and development of quality cancer support networks to better support people affected by cancer.

Monash as an organisation can apply for a maximum of one grant of up to $120,000 (excl. GST) over a three year period (2019-2022) and Monash as an organisation will be required to contribute funding towards the objectives. Therefore an internal EOI process, with Faculty and cross-Faculty review and ranking processes, is required to shortlist to a single proposal.

EOI applications must meet one or more of the priority target areas within a chosen category (categories listed below). The shortlisted proposal will be required to prepare a funding proposal against one of the two categories below and must clearly demonstrate how their proposed project will address one or more of the priority target areas within the chosen category.

Category one: improving outcomes for people whose outcomes are poor and demonstrating impact at a health systems level and/or community systems level:

·  People whose outcomes are poorer 

·  Regional and rural areas 

Category two: improving support, consumer involvement and evidence-based information at a local level:

·  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples 

·  People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds 

·  People from low socioeconomic status areas

Intending applicants are required to prepare an EOI application using the attached template and submit to the Faculty Research Office (medicine.research@monash.edu) by no later than 5pm (AEST) on Tuesday 25 September 2018.

The shortlisted Monash applicant will be advised by 9 October 2018 to proceed with their full application submission and entry of their application into Pure.  Final applications are due to the funder before 2pm (AEDT) on 30 October 2018.
