The Australian Academy of Science (AAS) has released a
call for applications from Australian based early career researchers to attend
the 67th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting (dedicated to chemistry), to be held in Lindau, Germany 25-30 June 2017

A limit
of two applications per eligible institution applies. Therefore,
the Monash Research Office (MRO) will
convene a Selection Panel to shortlist two proposals that will be submitted by
the University.
Applications open Monday 1 August 2016. The application form will be
available from the AAS
website and is attached here. Please complete the application form and submit it, along with a brief CV (max 2 pages),
recent publications list (max 2 pages) and a letter of recommendation from
your academic advisor or internationally renowned scientist, including the
specialist scientific expertise of the referee to mro-arc@monash.edu by 9am, Monday 12 September 2016.

Applications are open to eligible Australian based
early career researchers, specifically:
· Applicants
currently enrolled in a research higher degree (MPhil, PhD) or undertaking a
Postdoctoral Fellowship.
· Applicants
who have completed a research higher degree which has been conferred for less
than 3 years AND are working in an Australian University,
Australian publicly-funded research organisation or research-focused
institution.
· Applicants
must be aged 35 years or younger at the time of the meeting.
· Applicants
will not hold a permanent position.
The above
must be current at the date of the Lindau meeting (25 - 30 June
2017). Please note that selection will favour applicants currently undertaking
doctoral studies or postdoctoral fellowships. A maximum
of 15 short-listed nominations selected by the AAS will be
recommended to the council to attend the 2017 Lindau Nobel Laureate
Meeting.
The successful candidates will receive a
grant-in-aid of up to $6,178 (GST exclusive) towards the cost of an
international return economy airfare from Australia to the international airport
closest to Lindau (up to $3,000) and participation (including accommodation) in
the Meeting of Nobel Laureates (up to $3,178). Successful candidates are
invited and expected to attend Science at the Shine Dome, an annual celebration
of science held at the Australian Academy of Science in Canberra, 23-25 May
2017. A travel grant of up to $500 will be provided by the Academy to assist
with travel and accommodation costs.
