MMC Site Alerts: New pedestrian walkway/Bus stop relocation
Please note the following changes at MMC Site due to constructions works.
New Pedestrian Walkway- Northern Entry (Block B)
A new pedestrian walkway has been created linking Browns Road North Car park, the New Multi-Deck car park to the Hospitals Northern Entry (Block B)
What is happening? A pedestrian walkway has been created to link the Northern Entrance with the existing pathway leading up to the CRC and Browns Road North car park.
The new walkway has been installed to provide an off-road path for staff and visitors, segregated from vehicles parked in this area and travelling on the roadways.
How will it impact me?
- Staff using the Northern Entrance to access the Browns Road North and Afternoon Shift car parking areas should use the designated pedestrian pathway
- Use of the designated pedestrian pathway minimises the risk to staff and visitors posed by vehicles in the vicinity
Where is the path?
Refer to the attached plan below showing the new footpath in RED
Bus Stop Relocation - Browns Road South Shuttle Bus
What is happening? The Bus Stop for the staff shuttle bus servicing the Browns Road South car park will be relocated during installation of High Voltage electricity supply cables to the new MHTP-TRF building.
Installation of the cables will require the Eastern and Southern sections of the our service road to be closed for a period of approximately nine weeks from Saturday October 4, affecting the normal shuttle bus stopping location.
How will it impact me? · The shuttle bus servicing the Browns Road South car park will utilise a temporary Bus Stop from Monday October 6 until the High Voltage cabling works have cleared the eastern and southern aspects of the service road.
· The existing timetable will continue to apply at the temporary bus stop during both the morning and afternoon shuttle services.
Where is the temporary bus stop?
· The temporary bus stop has been positioned on the Western section of our service road, adjacent to McCulloch House
· This location has been selected as the closest possible to the main hospital building considering the safety and welfare of staff waiting for or alighting the bus, providing a suitable pedestrian footpath from the building to the bus stop, and minimal impact to service road traffic flow.
· Refer to the attached site plan – the RED box identifies the temporary Bus Stop location.
What about safety? We remind all staff
· to be aware of changes in traffic flow and pedestrian movements,
· to stay away from the works areas
· to be vigilant for your safety and the safety and wellbeing of others,
· to walk only on the pedestrian walkways provided and designated for pedestrian use, and
· to note that our service roadways are provided for vehicle use only, including cars, trucks and construction vehicles.
