Monash Health are recruiting an additional team member for their expanding Research Support Services team. The role is HREC & SSA Coordinator, 0.8 EFT.
The Monash Health Research Support Services Team is the hub for ethics and governance submissions within Monash Health and in addition to this, we provide an ethics review service for public and private organisations all around Australia.
Each year our team reviews over 700 new submissions and at any given time we have over 1300 studies that are underway.
The submissions vary from internal quality audits through to first time in human studies. We are also one of very few organisations in the country that does research in both paediatric and adult participants. Our work is always interesting and there’s always lots of great professional development on offer, to ensure we stay abreast of current issues.
Our ideal team member would have a desire to facilitate research and be highly organised. Whilst a large component of the job requires organisational and administrative skills, it also requires team members to have an understanding of ethics and governance requirements and the ability to problem solve. There is no particular educational background that is the ideal, as our research submissions can be social science, epidemiological, psychological, public health and clinical research but in saying this, it certainly helps to have an undergraduate qualification in health sciences/biomedical science.
Applications close on Monday 15 July and in addition to this role, we will shortly be advertising for a 12-month maternity leave replacement position, and would like hear from anyone who may be interested in working with us.
