The newly formed Women's Health Interest Society of Monash (WHISM), a subcommittee of MUMUS, would like to encourage Monash staff to be involved in Share the Dignity's "Dignity Drive" that occurs in April every year.Share the Dignity collects and distributes sanitary products to Australian women experiencing homelessness or financial crisis. Of the 3.2 million Australians currently living below the poverty line, 52% of those are women and young girls. Many of them are experiencing what is referred to as ‘period poverty’ - being unable to afford necessary sanitary products.
We would love for all members of the Monash community to get involved in this cause. We will be collecting donations across the month of April in the foyer of 27 Rainforest Walk. Please look out for our Share the Dignity collection box.
