2019 NFMRI Biomedical Research Funding Opportunities

From the National Foundation for Medical Research and Innovation

Dear All,

We wish to advise that we have a number of funding opportunities available in 2019 which might be of interest to you or your colleagues.

As you may be aware, the National Foundation for Medical Research and Innovation (NFMRI) seeks to strategically support biomedical research into potential new drugs, medicines, tools, diagnostics, vaccines and devices. Our targeted support enables research to cross what is often referred to as the ‘valley of death’ and advance towards attracting the next-step partner on the translation pathway.

At NFMRI, we believe that our strategy and support is best placed in advancing medical innovations in order to accelerate the speed at which products and cures can be brought to the hands of those in need. By strategically supporting research, we aim to reduce the amount of research funding duplication and to improve effectiveness and efficiencies. Our funding strategy is different in that we provide support that enables collaborations across institutions by providing funding to access capability, capacity and resources not currently available within a researcher’s own labs. Our funding provides researchers with an ability to project manage targeted research activities that are not always attractive for peer reviewed publications, but are necessary to advance their innovation and commercialisation.
Below you will find a list of our current and upcoming funding opportunities.

Those interested in applying for funding should read more about our strategy and portfolios prior to making a submission. Our success stories and current grants also provide a good indication as to the  types of projects we normally support. Please note that NFMRI does not stipulate minimum or maximum funding request amounts. We recommend that researchers apply for exactly what they require to deliver the project successfully.

Those interested in current and future funding opportunities should consider subscribing to our newsletter as this is where all announcements are made.
