Faculty Research Update July 2017: new student representative

Paris Papgianis
Paris Papagianis is the 2017 student representative on the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences' Graduate Research Committee.

A PhD student at the Ritchie Centre, School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health (SCS), Paris is the first domestic PhD student to be granted a joint PhD between Monash University and the University of Western Australia.

Paris is also involved in teaching, both postgraduate and undergraduate students at Monash University. She is passionate about science communication and is part of a science podcast (to be released shortly), which aims to educate the general public about controversial science topics including, gender bias, vaccinations and bacterial resistance. Paris hopes that her experience at both UWA and Monash will give good insight into maximising opportunities for postgraduate students. Paris is approachable and friendly and hopes postgraduate students come to her with any concerns, improvements or ideas.
