Deliveries to the Hudson Store

The Hudson Store is available to receive deliveries on behalf of SCS. To assist store staff with the efficient processing of deliveries please keep the following in mind:

• When ordering items to be delivered to the store please notify the team of the items purchased and estimated delivery dates. 
• Large bulky items should be delivered directly to the area where they are needed to avoid delays in goods being received. If you are expecting the delivery of large items please contact the store directly so the team can assist you in the planning and receiving of these goods directly.
• When your goods arrive the team will contact you to pick up your items.
• Collection times are 10am - 12pm or 2pm - 4pm Monday to Friday. Please ensure you enter the store from the main building entrance not the roller door. 
• If you are unable to pick up your items during these times please notify the team so alternate arrangements can be made.
• Store staff can be contacted via email  purchasing@hudson.org.au or if you need to speak to a store staff member you can contact Dale Cary on 0437 261 053 or Rodney Edwards on 0418 302 565

Google Drives: storage limits and shared drives

Recent changes and restrictions have been placed on Google drives, relating to storage and the use/setup of shared drives. Please see below for relevant updates/advice, from eSolutions.

Google Drive storage limits

eSolutions are applying storage limits on Google Workspaces to avoid exceeding usage limits and incurring additional charges as Google has recently started billing for storage usage.

• To find out how much storage you are currently using please log into your Monash Google account and visit the Google Storage page.
• In an effort to lower the high data storage within Google Drive, eSolutions has identified storage alternatives to assist staff members in the any required storage migration.
• If you have a legitimate case for storing excess data within your Google Workspace account please log a ticket with eSolutions with your justification and expected total usage. 

Google Shared Drive creation

Shared drives must now be requested for setup by eSolutions. 

• To set up a shared drive, eSols requires the following information: NAME OF THE DRIVE and NAME OF OWNER.
• For swift action, it is recommended that requestors call the Service Desk for service at 9905 1777 - requests should be provisioned on the spot. 
• Requests can also be made via email to servicedesk@monash.edu or via myServices, but jobs may then take up to a few days to be completed.
• Please note there are no plans at this stage reinstating access for users to be able to create their own Google Shared Drive given the need to manage storage usage so that charges for storage remain sustainable.

Free parking on campus in red and blue permit areas until 31 July 2020

Parking will continue to be free for staff in blue and red permit areas across all of our Australian campuses and locations until 31 July 2020. Please note that these arrangements are only for blue and red permit areas and does not include green or yellow permit areas. We’ll continue to review these arrangements, and will continue to keep you informed of any changes.

Working from home - update

In line with the State Government's further announcements on 1 June 2020 on working from home, staff that can work at home must now do so until the end of June.  All current working-from-home arrangements will be automatically extended until 30 June.
