2020 Investigator Grants: NHMRC and MRFF Priority Round Outcomes

The following information has been sent from the NHMRC to the MRO regarding the 2020 Investigator Grant Priorty Round Outcomes. All applicants are reminded that strict embargo remains until after the grants have been announced.

A definition of ‘under embargo’ can be found on NHMRC's webpage.

Following the release of NHMRC’s Investigator Grant and Investigator Grants: MRFF Priority Round outcomes on Friday 24 April, it has come to NHMRC attention that while RAOs were notified of the release via an RAO alert and an RGMS email, system emails did not go out to applicants as planned and as would usually happen. NHMRC apologises for this error.

On 29 April, a system generated email from RGMS was released to all applicants informing them, in case they were not already aware, that a letter providing details of the outcome of their application is available in RGMS.

For applicants to Investigator Grants: MRFF Priority Round, NHMRC would also like to clarify and confirm that only RAOs of successful MRFF Investigator Grant applicants were advised of the MRFF outcome and that only successful MRFF applicants will have MRFF documentation under the ‘Results and Rebuttals’ tab in RGMS.

NHMRC apologises for any confusion caused by the MRFF notification process.

Eligibility - Investigator Grant Awardees applying for Ideas Grants
Recipients of NHMRC and MRFF Investigator Grants are reminded that as per section 4.3 of the Investigator Grants 2020 Grant Guidelines, CIs (CIA-CIJ) who concurrently (in the same funding round) apply for an Investigator Grant and an Ideas Grant and are successful with both applications, will only be offered the Investigator Grant.

As such, recent Investigator Grant awardees are encouraged to remove themselves from any active Ideas Grants applications.  If they do not, the entire Ideas Grant application will be ruled ineligible and removed from the round as per sections 4.3.1 and 4.3.2 of the Investigator Grants 2020 Grant Guidelines.
