The Ian Potter Foundation Medical Research funding round is now open.

Brief details
The Healthy Australia pillar supports organisations that strive to provide innovative solutions to improve the health of all Australians. The Medical Research stream aims to advance understanding and improve treatment of major diseases by supporting major initiatives by leading Australian research institutes, universities and teaching hospitals in innovative biomedical research.

In the Medical Research stream the Foundation will consider applications:

• To support the provision of equipment and capital infrastructure to support outstanding research groups.

To be eligible, applications must:

• Request over $100,000
• Speak with a Program Manager prior to submitting an application. Potential applicants may speak to the program manager before submitting an EOI to the MRO, but only after speaking to the MRO to confirm alignment with program objectives.
• Submit via the MRO, both online and in hard copy, with the hard copy received by the Foundation before the close date.

University limits and EOI process 
A maximum of two applications may be submitted by an organisation in a given grant round.  The MRO will therefore run an internal EOI.

To submit your EOI, please complete the attached EOI form, and email it to mro-applications@monash.edu before the EOI close date.

• EOIs due to MRO - 8.00am Monday, 9 December 2019
• Submission to MRO for Compliance Checking (Via Pure Pre-Approval) (Successful EOIs only) - 8.00am Monday, 6 January 2020
• Finalised full application due to MRO (Successful EOIs only) - 8.00am Monday, 20 January 2020
• Full application due to funder (Successful EOIs only) - 5.00pm Friday, 24 January 2020

Helpful hints
The Ian Potter Foundation have indicated that they will give preference to applications that:

• Request funding for a significant piece of equipment that will be vital to the next step of treatment/research (i.e. not simply increasing capacity)
• Can demonstrate other already secured sources of funding for the requested equipment
