Academic and Graduate Affairs,
Professor Nellie Georgiou-
Karistianis
Congratulations to Mary Mansilla, from the Centre for Reproductive Health, for winning second place ($500 prize) at the Monash University 3-Minute Thesis Faculty Final.

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT™) is a national research communication competition that celebrates exciting research conducted by PhD research students. 3MT challenges students to creatively condense their exceptional research discoveries and present them concisely to a non-scientific audience.

Mary’s presentation titled 'What makes a super pregnancy?' highlights the superpowers of the human placenta. Her research explores how we could become superhero sidekicks to help the struggling placenta before it causes widespread damage that result in life-threatening pregnancy-related disorders.

“This year’s 3MT journey has been such a wonderful experience! It was such a fun opportunity for me to share my own research, and hear the incredible work being completed by other passionate students at Monash University”, says Mary.
