Congratulations to Professor Beverley Vollenhoven on being inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women for 2019 at an event held last Friday 8 March - which also marked International Women’s Day.
Beverley was one of 21 women inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women, which acknowledges and celebrates the achievements of women in Victoria who have demonstrated inspirational leadership and excellence in their field, and who have made lasting contributions to their communities.
As a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, Beverley is Deputy Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash University, Head of Gynaecology at Monash Health, and a clinician at Monash IVF. She has been instrumental in ensuring access to critical reproductive and women’s health services in Victoria, and has been a trailblazer in helping to create new pathways for women in medicine. Beverley has also been a strong advocate for gender equality through her position as Chair of the Women in Medicine and Science committee in the School of Clinical Sciences.
