From little things, big things grow

The Kim Jolly Lupus Research Fund was established in memory of Ms Kim Jolly, a young woman who tragically lost her life to Lupus after a long struggle. Initiated by her family, and now carried on in partnership with Lupus Victoria, the leading Lupus patient support organisation, the Kim Jolly Lupus Research Fund has supported lupus research at Monash University for the past ten years, having donated almost $200,000.
These funds have supported growth of the Monash lupus research infrastructure, especially its database, which has evolved to incorporate the Australian Lupus Registry and the Asia Pacific Lupus Collaboration - now the largest study of lupus patients in the world.

Monash researchers, led by Professor Eric Morand, have leveraged this support to gain several million dollars in research funding from the Lupus Research Alliance US, NH&MRC, and industry. Together, Lupus Victoria has raised more funds which were donated to Monash University via the Kim Jolly Lupus Research Fund at an event held on Monday, March 11 2019. Monash University looks forward to continuing its work with Lupus Victoria towards ending the burden of Lupus.
