Automatically forward Gmail messages to another account

Monash staff who have multiple work emails (e.g. @hudson.org.au or @monashhealth.org), can forward their new @monash.edu email messages to their Hudson and/or Monash Health email address. Note: You can only set up forwarding on your computer, not on the Gmail app.

  • On your computer, open Gmail using your Monash email account (the one you want to forward messages from).
  • In the top right, click Settings (daisy wheel at the top right) and then click See all settings
  • Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab (found in the top ribbon).
  • In the "Forwarding" section, click Add a forwarding address.
  • Enter the email address you want to forward messages to.
  • Click Next and then Proceed and then OK.
  • In the "Forwarding" section, select Forward a copy of incoming mail to (where your chosen email id is saved).
  • Choose what you want to happen with the Gmail copy of your emails. We recommend Keep Gmails copy in the Inbox.
  • At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.
