Diabetes Week at Monash - 12 - 18 July 2020

This year for Diabetes Week (12 - 18 July), Monash University is providing a range of programs to support you in your health and wellbeing.
Diabetes is a serious complex condition which can affect the entire body. Changes in our lifestyle is causing an increase in prevalence even though this condition is preventable for many. To support you we have a range of programs and talks online that you can join for free.

Tuesday 14 July- Should we be scared of carbs?

Whenever people talk about dieting or healthy eating, carbohydrates generally cop a battering. When it comes to diabetes there can be added confusion about where carbohydrates and sugar fit within a healthy diet.

Wednesday 15 July - Aerobics and Toning: Online Workout

Join Monash Sport in real-time for energetic aerobics and toning at home workout to keep your mind vibrant and your body active. All you need is ample space to move around, a towel, drink bottle and a positive attitude!

Thursday 16 July - Healthy Living with Diabetes Victoria

Join Diabetes Victoria and learn some tips and tricks to live a healthier life. In this interactive session they will cover:

  • Diabetes, heart disease and stroke, including risk factors and symptoms
  • Strategies to improve your eating habits and weight control
  • Ways to incorporate physical activity in your daily life and reduce stress
