New Library Resource - Research Lifecycle

Are you a graduate student, early career, or experienced researcher? The Library can connect you with the tools, information and advice to help you maximise the impact of your research.

The Research Lifecycle is a new resource for researchers, that covers the following key areas:

Concept and Planning - This stage involves formulating the initial research proposal. This requires a good knowledge of research project management, creating collaborations, and planning from concept to impact.

Exploring and Organising - This stage involves moving from the initial research proposal towards formulated research questions. This requires deeper immersion with the topic and further exploration in order to refine the general proposal into focused research questions. Developing systems to organise your data, resources and ideas is important at this stage.

Collection and Analysis - This stage involves research material and data collection, synthesis, analysis, and evaluation.

Outputs and Publications - In this stage, your research is communicated to a broader audience. This includes writing and communicating about your research, as well as publishing and archiving.

Impact and Engagement - This stage is where the impact of research within and outside academia is measured. This is done using a range of metrics and measurement tools.

Please refer to the The Research Lifecycle accessibility document for further information.
