The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Program - Now Open

L'Oreal - UNESCO for women in science                fellowship.pngIn 1998 L'Oréal and UNESCO founded the For Women in Science program to promote and highlight the critical importance of ensuring greater participation of women in science.

Applications for the 2019 Fellowships are now open and will close on Monday 4th March 11.59pm.
Each year, the program recognises the achievements of exceptional female scientists at different stages of their careers and awards them with Fellowships to help further their research.


Since For Women in Science was established, more than 3,000 women in over 110 countries have been recognised for their research and received funding to support their research and careers.

In 2019 we will award four Australian and one New Zealand post-doctoral female scientists with a $25,000 Fellowship. Applicants within five years of completing their PhD, from a variety of fields including life sciences, clinical and health sciences, material sciences, physical sciences, mathematics or engineering, are encouraged to apply.

Researchers are required to create a Pure record, upload the draft application form and the relevant documents in Pure for pre-approval by MRO and for the Department and Faculty's internal approval for submission.   

As it is an online submission, researchers may submit their applications directly after the approval process is complete.
