PhD Scholarships in Stroke Research (Sydney based)

Exciting scholarship opportunities are available for high-achieving PhD candidates to undertake research within the Nursing Research Institute (NRI) at the Australian Catholic University (ACU).

PhD scholars will work full-time at the NRI within our acute stroke research program. The work component of this PhD will comprise of a series of sub-studies which relate to and compliment the ongoing interstate T³ Trial: Triage, Treatment and Transfer of patients with stroke in Emergency Departments (ED). More specifically, the aim of the PhD research will be to identify contextual factors associated with the successful uptake of three clinical care protocols to manage fever, hyperglycemia and swallowing (the FeSS protocols) implemented as part of the T³ trial in ED.

Eligibility:           Degree in a relevant health related field                              

                                Masters qualification or relevant research experience would be a distinct 

                                advantage

                Completed a substantial research project in your previous degree

Mode:                  Full time (3 years) - based full-time at the NRI at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney

Value:                   Living allowance of $31,766 pa (tax free stipend) for 3 years
