The 2019 internal Monash deadline for FT20 is 23 October. Strategic Statements are due to the FRO by 7 October.
The new ARC Future Fellowships 2020 site has a great deal of advice and insights into the application process, including timelines and internal processes. If you are still deciding if you will apply this round, the site may help you make your final decision. If you intend to apply, then the site provides a great deal of advice on various aspects of the application and all the steps you need to take to submission.
Ready to Apply? Please follow these steps:
- Get in touch with your relevant School/Institute contact and let them know that you intend to apply.
- After speaking to your School/Institute, please email the Faculty Research Office to let us know that you intend to apply.
- Read the Grant Guidelines and Instructions to Applicants (ITA) on the ARC website (once released).
- Prepare your Strategic Statement (Section C3 – Statement by the Administering Organisation outlining Strategic Alignment), and discuss your financial package with your relevant School contact.
- Begin application in RMS on or after 25 September.
- Submit your draft Strategic Statement to the Faculty Research Office by 7 October.
- Complete application by 23 October and send to MRO for mandatory eligibility and compliance checks via Pure.
- MRO will submit all applications to ARC on 20 November 2019.
Strategic Statement
You must get started on your strategic statement immediately due to the tight timelines in this round. However, since the ARC has not yet released the FT20 grant guidelines or Instructions to Applicants (ITAs), you must use the last year’s (FT19) strategic statement template. We are not anticipating any major changes in the FT20 strategic statement. You can find the statement template and helpful advice on drafting your statement on the new ARC Future Fellowships 2020 site. We will provide updates via the site once the new grant guidelines are released.
You MUST submit your draft Strategic Statement to the FRO (medicine.research@monash.edu) by 7 October for our review and editing. You must also confirm your financial package with your relevant School contact prior to submitting the statement to the FRO.
The FRO is responsible for finalising your statement, as well as obtaining approval from Prof Ross Coppel, Senior Deputy Dean Research. The MRO will only accept final approved statements from the FRO. Please do not send your statement directly to the MRO, as it will not be accepted. The MRO will arrange for the final statement to be signed by Prof Rebekah Brown, Senior Vice-Provost and Vice-Provost (Research).
Please carefully review the strategic statement internal process here before you begin.
ARC Fellowships Workshop: 13 September 2019
We encourage all potential and intending Future Fellowships and DECRA candidates to join us for our ARC Fellowships Workshop on 13 September from 10:00AM-12:00PM in Lecture Theatre S9, 16 Rainforest Walk, Clayton Campus. The workshop will be chaired by Prof Mike Ryan, Deputy Dean Research & Research Infrastructure, and will include presentations from current Fellows, members of the ARC College of Experts, the MRO and the FRO. Please register to attend the workshop in person or via Zoom here.
