Congratulations to Dr Simone Gibson on receiving the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT)

Congratulations to Dr Simone Gibson, Senior Lecturer, Department Of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food on receiving the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) for Teaching Excellence.  Dr Gibson has won the award in the Biological, Health & Related Studies category, which includes a prize money of $15,000.


Established in 1997 by the Australian Government, the AAUT celebrates and rewards excellence in university teaching.  With an honour roll that includes many highly respected and celebrated members of the sector, the AAUT is a valued form of recognition for university educators Australia wide.

Australia’s most outstanding university teachers are awarded the AAUT Teaching Excellence awards in recognition to their "excellent leadership through sustained commitment to innovation, delivery of quality teaching and sustained dedication to improving the student experience and learning outcomes in higher education".

Dr Gibson said, "I am honoured to receive this award and it is testament to the wonderful department I work in where my colleagues provide much encouragement and support. I am also indebted to all the students, clinical educators, School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health and Faculty of Medicince, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University".
