NHMRC would like to sincerely thank those of our researchers generously giving their time to support the research endeavours of others through their roles as peer reviewers for the 2020 Ideas Grants round.
Despite the delayed Ideas Grant deadline this year, NHMRC are keen to ensure that outcomes are still provided to applicants before the end of the year so as not to impact researcher decision making into 2021.
To do this they need our peer reviewers to continue to work toward meeting the 11 October 2020 deadline for return of Ideas Grants assessments though they acknowledge the significant pressure this places upon our peer reviewers, particularly with this time now coinciding with school holidays.
They ask that we as an institution do all we can to support our peer reviewers during this busy time; which includes supporting our reviewers to prioritise their assessment duties so they are able to meet the tight time frame.
In turn, the NHMRC have assured institutions that they will do everything possible to complete all administrative and approval processes efficiently in order to deliver Ideas Grant outcomes before the end of the year.
Many thanks for your assistance. Should you have any questions about the above, please contact mhs@monash.edu.
