Impact of COVID-19 - Survey

Sent on behalf of Professor Eric Morand and Professor Elizabeth Hartland

Dear friends and colleagues,

Today we want you to take a few minutes to help us understand the impact of COVID-19 on your work.

The disruption to work has been profound on many levels, impacting on teaching and research in unprecedented ways. Emerging data suggests that while both men and women have been affected in some way, the impact on academic women is potentially greater, given the added burden of unequal sharing of household work, school closures and home schooling.

Professor Beverley Vollenhoven, chair of the SCS Women in Science, Discovery and Medicine (WiSDOM) committee, and Dr Kate Lawlor, co-Chair of the Hudson Institute Equity and Diversity Committee, have created a short survey to help us understand how our staff have been most impacted. This survey is based on those circulated by colleagues at Central Clinical School and other Medical Research Institutes.

Please help us better understand the impact that COVID-19 has had, and continues to have, on you, by completing the short survey available HERE, by Monday 13 July 5pm.  We are interested in the effects on everyone, regardless of appointment type or sex, and hope this can help guide policies and government initiatives in the future.

Best wishes

Eric Morand and Elizabeth Hartland
