NHMRC strongly advises that any researcher intending to be a CI or AI on an Ideas Grant application (who does not yet have a Sapphire account) needs to ensure that they lodge their Sapphire account registration request with NHMRC’s Research Help Centre by 17:00 AEST on Wednesday 27 May. NHMRC will endeavour to process registration requests for Ideas Grant applicants lodged after this date, however cannot guarantee that requests will be processed and actioned in time for applicants to complete their applications and have their applications reviewed and certified by their RAO prior to close of round on 10 June, 2020.
Given the scale of the Ideas Grants scheme (with over 3000 applications in progress), this advice is provided in order to support RAOs in reviewing and certifying applications in line with their own in-house deadlines, and to avoid an influx of last-minute registration requests from Ideas Grant applicants, noting that 1 and 8 June are public holidays in many states.
