The AFR Higher Education Awards recognise the tremendous contribution that the Higher Education sector makes to Australian prosperity and quality of life. The Awards will be judged by an independent panel of eminent Higher Education veterans, and will recognise the sector's leading initiatives, projects and individuals. This year's award categories are:
- Community Engagement Award
- Education Technology Award
- Emerging Leader Award
- Employability Award
- Equity and Opportunity Award
- Sustainability Award (New)
- Industry Engagement Award
- International Education Award
- Learning Experience Award
- Lifetime Achievement Award*
For categories 1-9, the stated regulations are:
- all applications require Monash institutional approval;
- Monash can only submit one application per category.
*For category 10 (Lifetime achievement), no institutional approval is required, but we would still welcome your suggestions.
The judging panel will seek evidence of core achievements in the period 01 Jan 2019 to 30 Jun 2020, and will: look for evidence of innovation, impact, clear improvement in outcomes, value/efficiency and solid outcomes related to the Higher Education sector’s core educational mission. The most outstanding initiatives may not be the largest or most high-profile: the judges will take into account, wherever possible, the specific scale, resources, and challenges of the applying institution.
