Victorian Medical Research Acceleration Fund 2020 (Round 4) - CALL FOR EOI APPLICATIONS

Round 4 of the Victorian Medical Research Acceleration Fund will provide two tiers of funding, $500,000 and $100,000, matched dollar for dollar, for the translation of early stage health and medical research into health and economic outcomes.

Faculty Close date: 5pm (AEDT) on Friday 13 March 2020.
Funder Close date5pm (AEST) on Sunday 5 April 2020.

Research applications must:
  • Be for early stage innovations, including discovery research, clinical research and/or health practice/ health service;
  • Support an idea or innovation to attract peer review funding or investment by industry, philanthropy or other sources;
  • Require matching funding to demonstrate capacity to collaborate. To undertake research that has a clear pathway to translation;
  • Articulate how the fund will ‘fast track’ the research into health and economic outcomes;
  • Describe how the fund will increase the ability to leverage third party funding e.g. from industry or philanthropic sources.
As per the guidelines for this scheme, universities may only submit five (5) applications per research Faculty. To ensure that Monash doesn't exceed this submission quota, there will be an expression of interest (EOI) round, with a Faculty review and ranking process.

Intending applicants are required to prepare an EOI application using the attached template (i.e. the actual application form) and submit to the Faculty Research Office (medicine.research@monash.edu) by no later than 5pm (AEDT) on Friday 13 March 2020.

Please note:  The letter of support is not included as part of the EOI shortlisting process, and only shortlisted applications would draft letter/s of support as part of their final application submission.

The top five (5) Faculty applicants will be advised on or shortly after 20 March 2020 to proceed with their full application submission and entry of their application into Pure.  Final applications are due to the funder before 5pm (AEST) on Sunday 5 April 2020.
