Social media policy

The University's new social media policy and procedure, which applies to both students and staff, has come into effect as of 6 January, 2020.

Social media fosters social connection, provides users with information, and serves as a platform for discourse and debate. With this in mind, the new policy and procedure demonstrate the University's commitment to the protection and promotion of freedom of speech and academic freedom.

It affirms the freedom that staff and students have to engage in public debate, and acknowledges the important role staff play in providing comment about matters within their area of academic or professional expertise.

We encourage you to read the new policy and procedure. Thank you for continuing to share the University's world-changing work with your own social networks.
