As part of MRO's support for the upcoming funding opportunity (expected opening 2 Oct 2019), the Research Development team will be available to provide strategic advice on the MRFF-specific sections of these applications. All applicants are welcome to have their draft sections reviewed.
This is expected to include:
- 2000 characters (TBA) - Clinical duties (if any), alignment with Priority Research Area and how the research program meets the scope of the selected Priority Research Area.
- 2 page PDF response to the Translational Outcomes Criteria
For strategic advice from the MRO Research Development Team on these sections, applicants must provide a copy the above sections AND their synopsis (for context) to mro.researchdevelopment@monash.edu between Wednesday 9 October 2019 and Wednesday 23 October 2019.
We will conduct these reviews during this two week window and we will provide advice on a "first come, first served" basis, so submissions early in the window are recommended.
Our team has also offered review of the Impact sections and therefore it would assist us (and increase the quality of your review) if the MRFF sections and Impact sections for an individual applicant are provided at the same time. Please email MRFF (and Impact) sections to mro.researchdevelopment@monash.edu.
Lastly, given the information on Priority Research Areas provided in the funding guidelines is limited, applicants may find it useful to explore the broader context of each. To assist with this, we have created a list of links to further information related to the Priority Research Area, including recent grant opportunities and awards, ministerial announcements and policy documents. These go beyond narrow intent of each Priority Research Area, but may help applicants to self-identify research areas or approaches that are considered more or less attractive. Applicants can find this information on the MRO Investigator Grant page, under the Medical Research Future Fund Priority Round accordion.
