Throughout the day, discover what it's really like taking an invention to market and launching a startup. Hear from those that have done it before and can provide an insight into their journeys of taking an invention to the market. Workshop how to spot opportunities and what to do from there to move from the lab to the market.
This one-day workshop is for you if:
You are a Monash Early Career Researcher, PhD or Masters by Research student; and
- You have a passion to solve problems and make real impact in the world
- Your research could solve problems in industry
- Your research could have have or already does have a commercial application
- You want to explore what it could look like to start your own thing and take an invention to market
The program will cover:
- What is a startup and how does this relate to a PhD
- How does the startup/ commercialisation pathway work at a university
- What are the traits of a Founder/ CEO
- How do you know if you should take an idea to market
- What are the next steps to taking your idea forward
