Information session: Monash Research Future Fund

The Medical Research Future Fund is new and might need some explaining. During February, Monash Partners is holding sessions to provide our partner health services, clinicians and researchers, with more in depth information about the MRFF, and the multiple funding opportunities currently open and forecast.

These interactive sessions will offer various topics and our presenters will clearly navigate through all stages of the MRFF process.

Below are seven current MRFF projects that were ranked by the Monash Partners Executive and endorsed by the Monash Partners Council.

  1. Data linkage to provide near real-time monitoring of cardiac surgical performance – a local pilot for a national process. Associate Professor David Pilcher 
  2. Innovative use of AI for antifungal stewardship in patients with blood cancer. Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah 
  3. Integrating care via a volunteer-based patient-centred program for hospitalised patients with dementia and/or delirium: The MIcare Ageing Project. Professor Helen Skouteris 
  4. Eliminating hepatitis C among people who inject drugs: enhancing testing and linkage to care from hospital to community settings. Dr Joseph Doyle 
  5. Bringing the clinic to the people: 'Pop-Up' primary health care. Professor Grant Russell 
  6. Bridging the communication gap between primary care providers and aged care residents to minimise preventable ED admissions. Professor Terry Haines
  7. Expanding home based care for jaundiced infants. Associate Professor James Doery and Professor Shen Wei
