Presentation Title - Laryngeal function at birth
in preterm rabbit kittens
Synopsis - Non-invasive ventilation is a popular form
of respiratory support in the delivery room. Unfortunately, non-invasive
ventilation is associated with a very high, and unexplained failure rate in
premature newborns. In this seminar I will present my findings on the negative
implications of prolonged laryngeal closure on non-invasive ventilation in
premature rabbit kittens at birth.
Supervisors - Prof. Stuart Hooper, Dr. Marcus
