A light lunch is served prior to the seminar at 11:45am in the seminar room foyer, level 2, TRF Building.

The IBD Unit at Monash Health was established in 2007 and provides tertiary referral level inpatient and outpatient services combined with clinical research, clinical trials of novel therapeutics, quality of care research as well as a basic science and translational research program. Our research interests include validation of body composition analysis from standard diagnostic imaging, the use of body composition in disease prognosis, therapeutic drug monitoring and clinical outcomes, psychological aspects of IBD care and basic science collaborations on the use of human amniotic epithelial cells in acute and chronic models of colitis, novel cytokines in human and murine IBD as well as collaborations investigating fatty liver disease.
Greg Moore graduated from Monash University in 1996 and completed Gastroenterology training at Monash Medical Centre and a PhD at the University of Melbourne, based in the laboratory of Prof Tony d'Apice at St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, investigating the spontaneous colitis in a xenotransplant mouse model, thymocyte glycosylation and selection, along with regulatory T cell therapies.  He founded the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Unit at Monash Medical Centre in 2007 where he oversees a multi-disciplinary IBD clinic providing tertiary referral and paediatric transition services. Greg combines private practice with coordinating clinical trials, investigator initiated research, currently supervising 4 PhD students, and is an active undergraduate and post-graduate teacher. He is the current Chair of the Australian Inflammatory Bowel Disease Association, a Board member of Crohn’s and Colitis Australia and Chair of the Medical and Scientific Committee of CCA, and on the steering committee of the National IBD Quality of Care Audit.
